The month of May is a time for appreciation. We take time to thank our awesome teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6th-10th. We let Nurse Sara know how much her care, bandaids, and ice packs mean to us on May 6th. We honor our marvelous moms on May 12th. As we prepare to celebrate an amazing year of learning and growing together in kindergarten, we think of those special individuals who support us along the way.
Speaking of appreciation… as our time together comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to let you know how much I appreciate ALL you do to support your child’s learning at home. In addition, I thank you for your contribution to our precious little kindergarten center. It is truly a special place, thanks to our kindergarten students, families, teachers, staff, administrators, and community members. I feel I am the luckiest person in the world to work with such an incredible and inspiring TEAM. It is my pleasure to be partners in education with YOU!
May and June are guaranteed to fly by, with lots to learn and several special events on our calendar. In addition to the upcoming events listed here, please note important June dates listed in the pages of our newsletter.
This is a good time to check in with your kindergartener, to see for yourself how well he/she is progressing with the 40 kindergarten high frequency words to be mastered prior to entering grade one. Also, addition and subtraction facts to five are to be mastered. Some resources may be found in this newsletter. If you desire information or additional resources to help your child progress toward these benchmarks, feel free to contact your child’s teacher. As always, please remember to enjoy lots and lots of wonderful reading time together.
