BEEP Winter 2010 MUSICAL THEATRE A program designed to introduce a wide span and talent to the enjoyment of “Musical Theatre” in acting, singing, and dance. An Original Script Performance of “Alice In Wonderland” will be performed. Costumes provided by students and family. Performance will be the last day of the session. Class Limit: 25 GET READY TO PLAY ARTS & CRAFTS CREATIVE CRAFTS Come join the fun as we focus on creativity. Each week will involve a new creative craft made out of every day things such as bottles, chalk, cereal boxes, popsicle sticks, etc. Great company and good times . Just bring a smile and a peanut free snack/drink if desired. Class Limit: 12 MAKING THINGS Join me as we use art techniques to make fun & useful things for ourselves or for gift giving… using print making techniques to make note cards, the computer to make stationary, polymer clay to make jewelry and recycled materials to make photo albums or scrap books. Bring an oversized t-shirt that is ready to be retired to the first class to make an apron/smock. Class Limit: 12 GAMES AND PUZZLES Students will be introduced to a new game each week. Students will be given most of the class to play a game with friends or work on a puzzle. Teamwork and strategies will be emphasized. Class Limit: 12 MATH GAMES Can't get enough of math? Come and play math games afterschool! These games will re-enforce many of the math concepts taught at each grade. Many of the games use tools and objects that can be found at home & would allow the student to share them with their families. Class Limit: 15 RIBBON CRAFTS In this craft class we use seasonal and decorative ribbons and sequins to make ornaments, door hangings, pins, refrigerator magnets and anything else our minds and hands create. We will take home a craft each week and make one extra that is saved for our annual Holiday Bazaar at which time we will sell the crafts and send 100% of the proceeds to a non-profit organization. Class Limit: 12 ARTS AND CRAFTS In this class students will have an opportunity to participate in arts and crafts activities after school. Come join the fun! Each week we will explore a different theme. Bring a snack and your creativity! Dates:Feb. 1,8, March 1,8,15 Class Limit: 15
WELL KNOWN BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS During each class students will listen to a story, get together with friends and act out the story, and make a craft to go along with the story. Class Limit: 20 BEGINNER GUITAR Join me in the mornings with your guitar to learn notes and chords. It won't take long until you will be playing songs. Class Limit: 12 SCRAPBOOKING Capture those precious memories and preserve them for a lifetime. Students will learn how to create beautiful scrapbooks and learn how to preserve memories as works of art. Each week, your child will be asked to bring 4 – 6 photos of a single event or theme. What a great way to document a family history or just show how much you care. Class Limit: 15 WINTER GAMES AND CRAFTS Students will be introduced to a new game or craft each week. Students will be given most of the class to play a game with friends or work on a craft to take home. Teamwork and strategies will be emphasized. Class Limit: 12 WORD PROBLEM DECODERS Students will explore and implement problem solving strategies on both MCAS and every day math word problems. Word problem clue words and problem solving tips will be covered as students gain confidence in solving single and multi-step math problems. Class Limit: 20 SPANISH Hola amigos! Do you want to learn how to speak Spanish? Come and learn basic Spanish words and phrases through a variety of fun activities. This class is perfect for beginners! Class Limit: 15
Indoor hockey fun with 6 on 6 player games. Must have a mouth piece to play.
